I have a strange problem. My motor is running rich and cutting off at idle. After ideling both spark plugs are soaking wet. I installed a rebuild kit to the carb and everything looks normal. I tryed a different low speed mixture needle from a 88' 20 hp Evinrude, idle got a little bit better but it still runs rich and smokes. Fuel pump is good, lines are good etc. I took both primer hoses off from the carb -> no effect, but I noticed that when the motor was running on idle it spitted out fuel from the primer connector that's in the intakemanifold. Is this normal? Few drops of fuel came out from the primer lines too..
Spark is good, it jumps allmost about an inch from the block to the screwdriver.. Timing is right too after I fixed the flywheel position. I think that the problem is carb related.

But what can it be?

When you installed the carb kit, did you check the float height and also the float valve seat for debris? To clean the low speed (idle)circuit, you need to remove the core plug, poke a fine wire through the passage ways and blow compressed air through them. Also, it sounds like your ignition is working good but, how old are the plugs and are they the right number?

Okay, I did clean the carb real good (idle circuit too) but I didn't take the core plug out. There was no sign of debris or varnish inside the carb. Float is set to parallel. Plugs are Champion QL77JC4. I do also have old L78V surface gap plugs but haven't tryed them yet.
