2000 250 johnson alarm

i have a 2000 250hp johnson the check engine light and buzzer comes on and the engine starts surging at high speed. the coplete fuel system is new, tank,fuel line, filters, vro pump, please help

yeh I think thats the fuel system alarm, leaning out due to obstruction somewhere,

considering the new parts already installed I'd be suspecting the carbs need rebuilding,

you didn't say but if its a fuel injection model then check the tank vent line is clear and the anti syphon checkvalve in the feed line at the tank.

You had crap in the tank and its very possible the anti syphon has junk still lodged in it. Some guys eliminate the checkvalve by pulling the spring and ball out.
