I recently bought a 2000 short shaft Johnson Outboard, tiller steering, electric start. No owner's manual. The motor does great on the open water at higher speeds, but won't go slow without stalling. There is a choke pull on the front of the motor. The guy I bought the motor from said that he just pulls it out then pushes it back in to start motor and not to run with it out. I noticed that if I do pull the knob out slightly, the motor will run slowly. What is that knob for anyway?
