Ok, here is the tale.
I am camping and took my boat with me.
Put it in the lake and ran about a mile and a alarm went off.
20PSI water pressure, good stream of water out the p-hole.
Thought maybe fuel pump had quit.
Took it to the Merc guy and they checked and found a couple bleed lines leaking but that won't set the alarm off, fixed them.
Did a check on the fuel/water separator, no water.
Did a fuel pump check, pumping good.
Me and the Merc guy took it to the river and I let him go at it and he did, 3 trips up and down the river, came back to the trailer and said for me to get in cause he could not get the alarm to sound.
We went up and back on the river about 5600 and nothing, no alarm at all.
He says that maybe something was stuck in a stat and caused the alarm.
Took it back to the lake this am and went about a mile, same distance and alarm went back off again. Now I am puzzled. Do I have a faulty stat or 2 or a faulty alarm.
Water coming out of engine after pulling boat from water was like bath water or just a tad hotter.
Come on guys, give me some direction. The Merc guy is gone to the beach for a week and I don't want to miss anymore fishing than I have too with the rain moving out.

He couldn't get the alarm to sound while running in the River, but in the lake it went off both times?
Is the Lake water temperature significant higher than the river temperature?

I'm sure the lake water is warmer than the river was since all the recent rains and such, just don't know the difference.
Just wild we boat ran it to 5700 RPM up and back the river 4 or 5 times and nothing.
Put it in the lake, ran it about a mile and alarm went off.
Slow down to about 1500 RPM and alarm will quit.

Nothing else has changed in your set up, like you put on your spare prop while the first one is getting straightened?

Different load of fuel, different brand?

Merc guy 100 lbs lighter than your fishin buddy?

Nothing changed. Yes he might be lighter, but it did it with just myself in the boat also.
I will see what happens after the install of the parts.
Might also be a heat sensor going south.

Well, went yesterday morning and had water pump kit and both stats installed.
Took it to the lake and ran it, little easy at first and then hard on it for a spell. The I honed it out some, 74.8 GPS for about a mile.
Myself and wife in boat and no alarms went off.
The impeller was worn, the housing had some wear also.
I guess we found it for now.
