2000 150carb. No spark

I have a pair of 2000 150 hp merc carb. Motors. They went underwater for about 7 hrs. I pickled them both. Mechanic came the next day and said they both need stators( no spark). After 2 weeks one of the motors fired over n runs great. The other however still won't start. At $600 per startor I want to make sure it's the problem before I dive in. Any suggestions? Model # is OT103988

Your going to need some test equipment and follow the CDI guide

Your'e getting ripped off on your stators if you are paying $600 for them . I just bought a new CDI 40 amp stator for $289.

Most stators fall into that price range....most. Unfortunately for me mine don't. Part #398-858404-a3
