The last 2 years my motor has gotten harder and harder to start. I usually have to choke it and crank until it backfires than I have to give it throttle to start. Once it is started if it does not die it runs good. Occasionaly I find the bulb empty. It takes 4-5 pumps than it may stay hard overnight. Sometimes when the motor starts it smokes and sometimes not? I replaced the bulb but the same problems presist. What do you think the problem is?

Fuel pump diaphram kit! $20bucks should solve your problem. My 89 80 would pour more oil in engine than fuel, volla changed that part out and ran like a raped goose
