Ran great. Next day cranks great, no start. No spark at plugs.
I suspect kill switch but I REALLY don’t want to disassemble the throttle housing…quicksilver commander 2000. I would like to jump the kill switch with the wires coming out in the harnes…but which wires are they?

Next..if the kill switch is not this issue any ideas? I cannot believe three coils go bad at once. Engine had been running great!

Electrical issues are not my strong point. Local mechanics are backed up 5 weeks!

Disconnect the black/yellow wire at the switchbox. If she then has spark, the trouble is somewhere in the wiring harness or control box.

thank you for replying…I do not know what/where the switch box is…old car motors I am good at…not so much boat motors.

If it's a 2000s you will need the manual to trace the kill circuit. I believe the 2000s have CDM modules.

Since I do not know the exact year of the motor, you may have coils or CDM Modules.

Trace the wires from the coils back to a box about the size of 2 packs of playing cards. That will be the switchbox. See if it has a yellow/black wire on it and disconnect it.

I am not real familiar with the wiring of the CDM modules. However, the black/yellow wire should be around them as well.

soooo if i disconnect the blk/yel wire from the switch box and I crank and it starts then it is my kill switch?

how do I tell if the engine has a cdm?

You can look up parts for your engine on the crowleymarine web site. You will need a serial number or year and HP.
