200 water tube rotted

Have to replace water tube on a 2001 200hp optimax. Can this be done by dropping LU and getting long extensions for sockets, or do i have to drop the mid section from the power head?

Why do you need to replace the tube? Never heard of one rotting. Maybe not conneted properly when the water pump impeller was replaced?
