200 johnson Spark gap

I have a 1983 Johnson 200hp I think i may have a weak coil or a bad plug wire. Cylender 5 barely makes a spark so i went and got a spark gap tester. My question is how far should the spark be able to jump ?

7/16th inch or 3/8ths,
you need a factory manual before you can go much further.

7/16 sharp blue spark is expected with all spark plugs removed.
