Hello everyone, I have a 2021 200 horsepower Mercury outboard. I went to lake Powell recently and it worked great till a couple of days before we left. Pulling up to a skier to pick them out of the water with the engine at idle it sounded a long trouble buzzer at which point it would not shift or throttle. I shut it down immediately and it would not restart but would turn over. We made it back to our houseboat with electric troller luckily. After looking at anything obvious the next day I cleared the low pressure fuel filter and was able to start it and same results. Fast forward another day at the marina and preparing to go to the boat ramp to load. She starts right up like nothing's wrong. I wide open throttled it and drove a bit and it was if nothing happened. I bought it brand new and have been religious about maintaining it and just put a new water pump in it before we left for the trip. I can understand if it was a overheat problem due to improper installation but why would it happen five days later? I plan on taking it to the dealer to have them look at the history and give me an update. Has anybody out there had this experience with their 4-stroke Mercury outboard?
