200.00 boat i just bought what do you think

guy wanted 300.00
now granted i only payed 200.00

1 haven't tried to start it ( he lost key)
2 it dose float
3 trolling motor dose work GREAT
3 its a 1974 16' 3'' boat
4 trailer rusty but not bad
5 i was already offered 400.00 as it sits

here are the starting pic IF i redo it i will update pics
any advice would be great 2nd boat (got a 1989 21 foot cobra 215 cuby cursor)
what do you think take the 400.00 and run or restore it

well depends on what the motor looks like, not many pics of it, but i payed $650 for granted a larger motor on it boat that the exterior looks worse on, so i would say IMHO put a couple hundred into making it look good THEN sell it... good luck!! remember, if it shines it helps sell the wives on the hubbys purchase!! im sure many iboaters can confirm that...

I think it's great! Didn't know Zebco made boats. I really like the headlights, so cool. If you only paid $200, I think it was a steal. That trolling motor is worth at least $100 on Craigs List. Seats don't look too bad, but you may want to consider new pedestals. I hope you are luck in that the motor won't be too much $$$ to fix. The trailer doesn't look too bad, but is worth about $300 here in my area. I say put a few hundred $$ into it and go fishing!

it is a duel light the on on inside is a florescent light and the outside one is a black light

and to other poster the seats are in great shape were stored inside off boat

the tilte and boat say its a astroglass i was confused myself about the zebco logo thought it may be an after market sticker but it dose not look like it. could be wrong did a google search on it and no luck

That boat is way too cool not to fix up...looks like it could hand a bigger motor than a 35hp. The cool factor alone makes it a complete steal at that price. I'd offer you 400 for it sight unseen easily.

another question boat plate says rated for a 90 hp eng if i should have to buy another will a 90 hp go on it or should i just stay with the 35 hp

i think it looks cool also i love the built in headlights i really think best to just take my time and fix it up ( i do have another boat to have fun on hard to fish from but fun none the less)

hell yea throw a 90 on there... if its only got a 30hp then youll probably have problems planing out, plus what does tim the toolman taylor say? more horsepower!! grunt grunt grunt... hehehe... yea 90 should work as far as im concerned.... once again IMHO.....

cool looking boat, yeah the headlights are what make different.
what yr is it? maybe the zebco was a sponser decal.

That motor actually LOOKS in pretty nice shape, i.e. good prop and little paint gone off the skeg. The trim tab has been broken off and you'll probably have a lot of torque steer, but they're not all that expensive to replace. I think the boat is probably waterlogged and needs a ton of work, hence the low price. It was still a super deal. The trailer looks nice...... If that mercury is in good shape and has compression and good spark, it might be a steal as well.
It is an interesting looking boat. Since it was stored outside, however, I just expect the floor and stuff under it is gone.

Get it runn'in, go fish'in this season. Once you start taking it apart, it's a long
road back. At the end of the season you'll know more about what it needs.
If it's more than you want to mess with, sell it.

well update been working on the boat all day. floor is solid. gona rewire it but got some GREAT news i went down and got a ignition switch wired it up just to see if motor would turn over well the darn thing started WOOT WOOT
to answer question asked the boat is a 1974

been thinking of a color for boat realy likeing the all black with yellow carpet now the carpet is in spots not the wole inside on the main deck floor and where seats are and over storage compartments not at all on the side walls, then getting a yellow vinyl batman logo and puting it on the 2 rear sides LOL (just a thought) LOL
