:confused:I am currently changing my Prop from a 8 1/2 to 7 1/4 Pitch. The only 7 1/4 prop i could find is a 2 blade so i would like to know the difference, other then 1 extra blade, in the 2 props. Any help assistance would be appreciated.

You won't notice much difference it might be a little weaker in an extreme load situation.Might be a little better with a light load. Not really noticeable.
2 blade is said to be most efficient type but not as good in all situations.

Re: 2 Blade vs 3 Blade

Both my 5.5 and 9.9 have two blades each. My 30 and 40 have 3 blades.
I guess a smaller motor is more likely to be on a lighter boat therefore doesnt need as much torque. I have a British Seagull that is around 5 HP with 5 blades and about 10+" diameter. You could darn near move the Queen Mary with that thing.
