I just bought my first boat, a 1953 Aerocraft. Can't seem to find anything like it online. I've tried searching the 10-digit VIN number with no luck. Any pictures of what this boat looked like originally? Thank you!

Cool lookin' boat. That's not a HIN on your boat, it's a manufacturer's serial number; and likely doesn't mean too much. Do a little lookin' in HERE and see if you can figure it out.

boats that old generally have the drain plug as a reverse clamshell with the plug inside the boat on the bottom

As a kid I remember seeing boats similiar to that along the Portage river in Port Clinton Oh where the old family cottage was. Many of the old boats posted on here are familiar to this 72 yr old....been around boats most of my life, nice to see the oldies !!
