Hi Guys,
Im from Perth, Western Australia and need some thoughts on the following boat. Im looking at it as a project. Not sure how old it is ...the owner thinks its around 1980 its called a Regent Viscount also seen them by the name of Reagal Rush and BONITO 200S.
The Hull looks good, no bumps and cracks but im not too sure what else to look at. The engine is a volvo 145a with a 270 stern drive. The motor is buggered but he says he has a spare in the shed. What worries me is that its been sitting for 7 years. Apparently its spent most of its life under cover.
If its been sitting that long would the seals and bearings ect need replacing in the stern drive?
Im not too worried about the engine as i would like to replace it with a 3.8 v6 like 4bait has in Melbourne. My main concern is making sure the hull is a good design and in good condition.
What are your thoughts on the Hull design and how to check that its in good condition?
Cheers,
Brendan
