Being new to these forums, I honestly have seareched them, but cannot find an exact answer to this.

I bought a 1999 Pro Team 185 Tracker last week, and Im struggling to figure out the Aerator/Live Well deal, as it's not akin to boats that I've owned previously. The boat has a single well in front of the back pedestal seat. It has a normal powered toggle switch on the console - labeled Manual and Auto (up and down). Above the throttle there is a movable position switch - labled "Empty on the far left and Auto on the far right". Inside the well is a single white pipe as filler. When I launch the boat, Im assuming that I have to pump water into the well - however, when I switch the toggle power on - I get nada. Im not sure where the position lever should be above the throttle I suppose. As a note, I do the hear the aeorator humming when I turn it to on. Any advise appreciated.

Re: 1999 Pro Team 185 Tracker

I have a 1989 fiberglass Tracker with dual rear livewells, so it's no exactly the same, but I'll tell you what I know.

On my console, each livewell is has a knob labeled "push to full, pull to drain". I think that would equate to your "empty vs. auto" switches. When set on "auto", your livewell should fill automatically when you launch the boat. At least mine do when on the "push to fill" setting. Make sure there isn't a plug in the livewell drain at the back of the boat.

The other switches you mentioned, manual and auto, have nothing to do with filling the livewell on my boat. That's just the aerator setting.

I have been VERY intimate with both a '99 and a '00 tracker 185 working on them for my dad

the empty/auto deal is a remote control for the drain valve.... leave it on auto until you trailer the boat and want to drain the well

upon launching you turn on the pump to fill... the switch on the dash is constant on in the on position and cycles on a timer in the auto position

you probably need a new pump but check your fuses under the dash on the right side

Could need new pump. I capped end of hose over outlet hole on back of boat and forced water back thru to well fine. As far as fuse goes, the pump motor is working fine - it hums like a mad bee. Im not sure that the actual pump impellers are turning tough.
