1999 Mercury 135 2 stroke

Hi, I'm interested in buying a used 1999 Mercury 135 2 stroke. Im wandering pros, cons and things to look for in this engine. I'm not finding a lot of info on the net. Any thought on this engine would be appreciated!

if its in good shape its probably tha most "bullet proof" v6 merc has ever put together and will run for a very long time properly maintained. but............................

ya gotta do a good inspection and water test if possible..

salt water motor? this is a no sale with one that old, for me anyway..
rust?
compression?
leak down (if possible)?
water pressure?
oiler still intact?
brittle and/or insulation breakdown on all wiring?
overall appearance?
lotsa "common sense"......................... don't rely on "seller" ta be completely truthful unless ya know him/her............
justa few things off top of what few brain cells i have left......

oh yeah.. look at bolt and screw heads for wear and/or rounded edges.. look for "factory loc tight" blobs that have been broken.. if ya see anything that looks like its been moved ask about it...
