I have a chance to pickup a '99 8hp o/b, looks clean, anything I should be concerned about with these motors?

Also read the item entitled "Awakening a sleeping outboard" onthe Engine FAQs board. Much useful advice there applicable to a newly acquired engine.

:welcome: Euroshowoff. Do what boobie and vic.S are suggesting and you should be fine. Also remember to change your gearcase oil annually in the fall and change out the water pump impeller every other year in the regardless of how many hours you have on it.
