If it is only a serial number I think you have to contact BRP to get the cross reference to the model number.
Check the link above for free technical help they have an email address.

Hi Fed, I sent you a private message the other day, but I guess it didn't go through. I really appreciate your help. I keep asking him is it helped, but I'm not really getting an answer. But, yes, thank you very much for your time and everyone else too.

Constant alarm is an overheat alarm. Now the question is why?

Hi racerone, I'm going to wait and see, because he's stopped giving me direct answers. Once he lets me know, I'll let everyone know the outcome. I will relay your message to him that "possibly the buzzer itself has failed". Thank you.

I don't if this will help but i had a buzzer go off on my merc 50hp 2 stroke, come to find out when i was hitting waves i was a little low on two cycle oil, and this made my buzzer go off.It was an alarm for low oil. good luck.

As I recall there are only 3 alarm warnings on the OMC. One is for overheat, one for low oil and one for no oil. The constant alarm is for an overheat condition. Test accordingly,

Some of the buzzers come on as a self check when key is turned on.----Shut off after 2 seconds.---Perhaps the circuit on the buzzer has failed.

Thanks Guys. I've been passing these replies on to my friend. (Fed, I hope it's not contagious.)

The update today is it is a 2 cylinder and lost spark in one cylinder. He said he changed power pack, to no avail. And that's all I know.

There is a test listed in the OMC manual to test the warning horn. But at this time and under extreme pain meds I am unable tp locate it.

I do know that it involves placing a key under the high speed idle level.

Tell him to spend the $20.00 to $35.00 and buy a manual. Second hand help seldom turns out well!

bonz_d, I agree, he should buy the manual. However, at this point, for benefit of the next person to encounter this problem, I am seeing this through and will post the solution when he discovers it. Sorry you are not feeling well.
