1999 Johnson 25 Water Pump

Helping a friend with his water pump it's not pumping water we're gonna put the lower unit in a tub spin it with a drill. Then try to book a hose up to the legside and see what happens. Also I crushed that colar between the water pump and leg one that goes around the driveshaft can anybody tell me what that does?

Is this a 2 cylinder motor or 3 cylinder.----Model # is ?-----When test running in a bucket you need water about 8" above the impeller.----

We got it pumping. The copper water tube wasn't connected leg side (he just bought the boat). We're gonna relace that spacer #64.
