I think either I have a bad tach or bad wiring from the factory...
The other day we were running in a no wake zone around 1200 rpm or so.
Warning horn comes on (constant alarm - no beeping) and the no oil light lights up...
Temp gauge reading around 130.
Shut off and restarted, alarm goes away.
Took it home and thought I would flush it out to make sure it wasn't dirt/sand etc... while flushing alarm comes on, no oil light.
The oil tank is 3/4. Hoses are fine. Pressure tests are fine.
Cleaned the oil sensor and tested, it is fine. Tested the VRO and it is getting both gas and oil fine.
I am going to replace the water pump as it has been a few years.
However, why am I getting a constant alarm and a no oil light. Should I not either get a beeping and no oil if it is an oil issue, or a constant and a hot alarm if it is overheating?? I am wondering if a wire was reversed somewhere or if it is a bad tach or ?? If it is incorrect wiring, what wires would I check to make sure they are going to the correct places?
