1999 Johnsom130 water pump replacement

How do you disconnect the Shift rod to drop the lower unit? My Mariner it just drops out. you do not have to disconnect anything but the 5 bolts on the lower end. Please help.<br /><br />Thanks

Sounds like you need to get a shop manual.<br /><br />You need to disconnect the shift rod from the linage under the bottom carb. Just remove the pin bolt, which usually needs 1/4" drive long extension and a swivel socket to reach.
