1999 ficht curious what this hole is for?

I can't figure out what is supposed to go here if anything even does go here. It seeps oil, there are no threads, and i cannot see anything on any parts diagrams that would go there. It is on the port side of mtr just below the temp sensor, i thought it was part #18 but its not. if anyone knows i would appreciate it.

It looks like there's part of a casting broke away from it as rough as it is.

How deep is the hole ?

E90FPLEEC is the model #

It's about 1 1/2" deep and there is a little hole inside and there is swirl marks where it looks like s machine did so

It's weird

If you're close to any BRP dlr you may want to see if they have a mtr of your same vintage and compair it with with yours. Or any dlr for that matter.
