Primestart is a Yamaha term for any automatic fuel enrichment system. They are not all the same.
Primestart on an EFI F350 or the latest XF425 direct injection model is completely different than Primestart on two stroke models.
It’s getting 6-7 volt DC in idle.Is that peak voltage, DC, or AC?
what are you using to measure the voltage and where are you placing the meter leads?
was the heater unit connected while testing?
Did you not read or understand post #6?The voltage is recieved from the lightning coil, should it put out 12 volt the moment the engine is started?
Because it is charging the battery fine?
the problem is, i haven’t been able to find a service manuel for this engine yet….
I can only find the manuel for the model newer, with the primestart mounted on top and inside the carbs…
Delete.trace the wires back to the lighting coil or rectifier regulator to see if it runs off of the DC side of RR or the AC side.
I would think that your battery charging would be having a problem if the RR only puts out 7 V
better yet see what your service manual says the specs are for that heater unit during testing
Some how I knew that was coming.#6 with the picture of the manual i just a empty page when i click on it.
Was hoping to find a free version as pdf to download.
im located in Denmark.
