Hi everyone. First time posting and thanks to iboats for providing the forum.
My '98 Four Winns Horizon with VP 5.0 GL has developed an electrical short and has difficulities starting after running/warmed up for 30 minutes. I turn the key and hear the buzz of the electric fuel pump, but starter won't crank.
Does the fuel pump buzz mean the ignition switch, kill switch and neutral safety switch are OK and sending current back to the motor box? If the neutral safety switch was failing or out of alignment, would it allow current to the fuel pump but not the starter?
This problem is becoming more frequent. Battery cables are clean and tight and sometimes the boat starts and runs fine.
