1998 Mercury 200 Pro Max Super Mag Stalled now not charging battery

I have a '98 200 Pro Max, about 2 weeks ago the motor started stalling out as I would slow down. It would start back up and run but would stall again upon deceleration. I had the old grey fuel line so I changed it out and changed the fuel filter and water separator. (plugs were done also) This past weekend I went out again and it ran a little better put still stalled out. As I was idling to the shore I noticed that my volt meter was reading low and the motor died and the battery was dead. I switched batteries, it would turn over but the motor would not start.

HELP!?

Has your tach been actin' up? Sounds like time ta check regulators and stator............Ecu has ta have good power!
