is it fairly easy to raise idle speed on this model? my engine dies when shifting in gear, a bummer when I get to the ramp and cant slow down the boat, thanks for any tip...
Sure. If your idle stabilizer isnt hooked up you can just bump up your idle timing to increase the idle speed. Its a linkage adjustment. If your idle stabilizer is hooked up then its not doing its job. diconnect it and set your WOT timing and your idle timing and never reconnect it again.
I have a 1999 model with the same problem. Can you tell me where to find my idle stabilizer on the engine?
