1998 Johnson 90 wireing harness wont plug into control?

I just bought a omc binnical control with the key switch built in to go with My 1998 Johnson 90SPL, they both have the square plugs but they don't match, the only one that plugs in is the trim harness, do they make an adaptor for this

I don't have the answer for you. I suggest contacting a dealer.

On the engine side of harness, does the spl use a red plug or deutsch connectors? May be you need a pinnacle for pre 96 as the spl motors were bargain priced with older technology. Not really the pinnacle but the Key switch assy.

the control and motor both have deutsch connectors but are different,. the wire colors correspond but the plugs are both female???

mystery solved, My new helper who installed the wiring harness put it in backwards {motor end at the console] , I crawled under the console this eve and discovered the mistake.
