Does anyone know where to find the serial number on this type of motor. We are considering purchasing one, but can't see a S/N to match the title and the owner says he doesn't know where it is either.
Nadaguide(marine blue book prices) says a 1998 force 75hp outboard goes for 2420$ in good condition. The serial # in on the lower leg , if its missing BEWARE!
Mine has all the tags and is like new, I will not sell for $2400 as it would be imposable to replace with the controls and everything. I agree a well used outboard with 250 hours would be worth blue book.
Could probably buy a 90 hp johnson brand new for 6000 or so, I would guess a 75 would be even cheaper. Force 75, I wouldn't pay more than 2500 for, they just aren't that good. Hate to knock them, but I had one and was never satisfied.

Good Luck
The seller must have been wearing a ski mask when he offered you that deal. RUN, do not walk, in the opposite direction. Shop around, and do your homework before some other shady character tries to hijack your wallet!
I bought my 18' Angler new with my 75 hp force and the paperwork said my motor was $5450.00. Even though I have had no problems with mine their is no way it is worth what that guy is trying to rob you for.
