1998 Force 120 Impeller Replacement

I know I have read a lot of threads on this but since I'm new to boating and I'd like to ask the right questions before under taking this. I have both the Seloc and Clymer manuals. Do I need to order a kit when I go for parts? Are there any other gaskets that should be replaced while disassembling? Is there any specail lubricants I should have in hand before starting the job. This forum has a lot of good info for Force owners. Thanks for the help.

Instructions on p487 of clymer say use locktite #271<br /><br />Unless damaged, use the old pump base with the gearcase seals intact on the bottom, makes things easier.<br /><br />You can buy just the impeller for about $20, or get the waterpump kit with gaskets, seals, orings, etc. for $50. I would get the kit, as you never know what you will find when you open it up.
