I have a 1998 Evinrude 130 HP V4 which I believe is missing senors. The boat starts, but will not idle. It sounds like its missing firing. I believe it may have something to do with the missing senors. The senors thread into the of the top of the cylinder covers. I'm not sure which senors they are. Please help (attached are the two pictures the missing senors are in the red circles) If you know the part # that would help to. Thanks!

Those a your temp sensors.
is it a new motor for you?
Any idea why they were removed?
You should start with a compression test and spark test on all cylinders. You can find out how to do that by reading the 1st thread in this section
It should idle on even one cylinder when on muffs

The 1st thread is called "sticky" its the one with the info on how to do these tests.
Your second photo has the temp sensor installed, for whichever head that is. Im unsure what the other hole is for, maybe water pressure or for a temperature gauge. Not necessary but very useful.
Does the motor pump any water out the telltale when you are trying to start it?
