I recently acquired a 10 year old 2 stroke 60 HP Mercury Bigfoot on a 24' pontoon boat. The last time I started it, would idle for a few seconds and die. I could keep it going by choking, but was unable to generate any RPMS over 1500. Is this a fuel filter problem? Where would I locate it to check? Also,this is the first year of ethanol gasoline use where I keep the boat in Canada. Would appreciate any suggestions.
