1998 4.3l mercruiser starter wiring diagram

I have a 1998 Tahoe Q5 with the 4.3L mercruiser. I got the old starter off but noticed an extra wire that was not hooked up to the old starter. It was an orange wire. It appears from reading other post that this wire normally runs from the alternator. I want to be sure that is correct before hooking this back up. I had the normal relay, start wires. I had main power wire and another that i assume is power(red/blue) hooked to the main bolt on starter. The orange however was not hooked to anything. I didnt even see it until I pulled the started out and it was hanging there. I am concerned what to do with this. It is hard enought to get to I dont want to have to take it back out to rewire it. Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the 1998 mercruiser starter. I know at one time there were links to pdfs but those links appear to be gone.

Thanks for the quick response Don.... no idea why that alternator wire was not hooked up previously. I will hook it up as described.
