Motor idled great last year. Rebuilt all 6 carbs (taken apart, new gaskets) over winter as preventative maintenance. Had an ignition issue at end of last year and I replaced stator, timer base, powerpack and voltage regulator.

Now, at idle forward it hovers around 650rpms which is great most of the time. However occasionally it dips down to 600rpms and wants to stall. No lean sneeze or anything this is not a carb issue. All throttle plates are closed at idle.

If I want to slightly adjust idle speed, I am unclear on whether I have the adjustable air orifices or whether I should simply adjust the idle speed screw CCW to slightly advance timing? I read that they changed the carb air orifices in 1996. Mine are fully seated right now.

When I put new timer base in, I am wondering if somehow monkeyed with the position a smidge...?

If I want to bump idle fwd 50RPMs or so, which route should I take?

thx!
