Last time I was on the water I went to turn off the motor and it wouldn't turn off. It sounded like when I turn the key to the off position 3 cylinders would shut off but 3 wouldn't. I pulled the emergency lanyard and that didn't shut it off either. Had to use the push to choke to kill it. What should I test first?

ground wire coming from key switch and lanyard switch then to motor..also check the connections good...that is hopefully the problem..if all wiring checks out fine then it could be your power pack.

The kill circuit is a black wire w/yellow tracer coming off the powerpack. When grounded it short circuits the ignition, killing spark. If yours is only killing one bank, you may have an internal powerpack failure.

An open circuit fault in the keyswitch or wiring harness, either on the ground wire or kill wire, neither bank would shut off.

The most common cause is a broken pin or terminal crimp inside the black/yellow stripe "kill wire" connectors under the power pack. Disconnect each one - there are 2 and see if a wire can be pulled out or if a pin is broken.

Other causes are a bad pack, shift interupter wiring, wiring harness problem, bad connection in main harness connector.

Thanks, pins are ok, kill wire on ignition switch was loose. Hopefully that fixes it.
