1998 200hp evinrude

i need help i have an 1998 200hp evinrude vindactor the motor has allways ran great until i fished an tournment couple weeks ago and i fished all day in one spot with out leaveing so with all pumps on all day and i did not start the motor it killed starting battery so i jumped the motor off using the trolling battries and the motor would never run over 2/3000 rpm wot so charged battries when i got home and put new plugs in it and went back to lake and it done the same thing again. so i went home and checked the fireing and 1 cylnder was not fireing so i replaced power pack and then went back out done the same thing again but what i dont understand is the motor runs rough in netural but it will rev up fine but when i put it in gear it will only go 2/3000 rpm wide open also the motor has been serviced every fall since it was new and kept clean but since this the front of the motor has gas all over the front of the motor and the air box like it is blowing it out the air box anny help would be verry nice thanks....

check hoses for leaks, could be spraying run motor without cowl and see if you can see where it's coming from.

thanks for reply but i tried this and i didint see anything the motor still runs choppy on hose but it will rev but when under load in water it wont turn over 3000 rpm some people told me it may have water in fuel or trash in carbs do you know if this boat/motor has an water/seperator on it it is an 1998 sprint 21foot bass boat the motor is same 1998 evinrude vindacor . any help would be verry helpful thanks very much.
