I'm attempting to document a floor recovering in the "restoration" forum and had some Stingray specific questions that nobody has answered. I have ripped up the carpet until I got to the panels under the console (under the instrument panel on one side and the glove box on the other). The panels are wood covered with carpet and they have the speakers installed from a PO. Each of the panels as 4 bolts visible from under the consoles and protrude through the fiberglass and into the seat back cushion for the bow seating. See pictures below. I removed all 4 of these bolts but the panel is still rigidly stuck in place. How do I remove it? What else is holding it in place?

Also, I'm removing the gunnel side panels to replace the carpet and cannot figure out how to remove them either. I removed the nuts from 2 bolt studs that appear on the inside of the gunnel storage shelf but the panels are still held in place. There is lots of spray on insulation that I don't want to remove unless I have to. Please help! Here's the link to my restoration post if you're interested:

I've been away from iBoats for a bit. Have not had a lot of time to work on the boat and everything was taking FOREVER. So, here are some updated pics. I decided to go with carpet in lieu of vinyl. Cost actually won out. Since the Syntec carpet originally installed in my boat lasted almost 20 years I figured that would cover me not having to do this again. I went with the Syntec Infinity carpet. The messed up thing is that they don't sell direct to the public so I had to go with a 3rd party. Everything worked out in the end but it was difficult getting information. The carpet only came in 8.5ft x 25ft so everything had to fit in that roll. After removing all the carpet I taped out on my garage floor the 8.5x25 and laid the old carpet pieces in that space trying to pay attention to orientation (see photo). I think it worked out pretty good. The old carpet--due to stretching--was only good as a rough guide when cutting the new pieces. I found it easier to use scissors then to try to use some sort of knife or blade. I was very pleased with the outcome of the carpet but have some odds-and-ends to clean up.

Why is this thread only showing my first and my last post? I wanted to re-read the posts that everyone had made. Everyone has been very helpful.
