1997 Seaswirl/striper electrical problem.

Last time out my gas guage quit working an so did my volt meter. I turn the key on and volt meter moves slightly negetive but gas guage doesn't move. Start engine and neither move?

Fuel Gauges require +12 volts and ground and the signal from the sender. Troubleshooting is covered in well over 100 posts on this topic. Use the Forum Search using FUEL GAUGE PROBLEM. Diagrams and tips are usually included. Your volt meter needs only +12 volts and ground. Check the wiring at the gauge. There is also a Generic Boat Wiring Diagram in the stickies at the top of this page. It shows the wiring of a typical small boat.
