i decide today to change gear oil in 9.9 mercury 1997 i think ,, turned the vent screw, and it just kept turning on air, i can't take it out nor i can't tightened / i tried to put something under the screw to put pressure so it could come undone, but nothing could fit under even a razor knife ..
i attached a video aswell, any idea of how to take it out ? i loosened the lower unit, maybe i could get it from inside, but i don't see the screw from inside unless i take more things apart
did anyone seen something like this? or any ideas on how to get the screw out?
thanks everyone

What is the Serial #? There are many 9.9s and the Serial # is need to access the proper Parts Diagram. On some 9.9s there 2 Vent Screws side by side.
Some JB-Weld Quick might permit the screw to be pulled on as it is rotated

That's one way to do it.
I was thinking along the lines of using one of the Epoxy Putties, to fabricate an extension of the screw, to be gripped.
I ran the Serial #, there are 2 main variations of the Gearcase, but neither use the 2 Vent Screws, I had earlier made reference to.
I will send the info in a PM
