1997 johnson 25 no spark

If anyone has any idea as to what and how to check it , I would greatly appreciate it .
It ran fine the last time I had it out , but this time it would do nothing .
It 2-stroke 2 banger .

It is an electric start , but I have to replace or rebuild it . When I use a rope on it I get no spark , or at least to the best of my knowledge I get nothing .

you will need to buy or make a spark tester. an inline tester is cheap and avalible at most parts stores.
then remove the plugs and crank the motor,spark should be capeable of jumping a 1/2" gap.
if no spark is observed remove the ground lead for the kill switch,normally its attached to a coil bolt on a tiller 25.
if you cant find it, push the blk/yellow wire out of the powerpack connector and retest. if you have spark fix the kill circuit,if still no spark you will need an ohmmeter at a minimum for further testing.
