So after all this time and three shops later, I think I finally have found my issue. It’s actually pretty sad that all the other mechanics missed. Especially since two of the supposedly rebuilt my carburetors.

So the other day I decided to start my trouble over. I started at the fuel tank and replaced both the male and female anti-siphon valves. I also took the fuel pickup tube out and inspected it. I then moved my way through all the fuel lines from the tank to the motor checking/fuel pump checking that all connections were tight. All were good.

i then primed the fuel bulb and started to loosen the drain plugs on each carburetor at the float assembly. Each carburetor seemed to be getting ample fuel; however, one of my drain screws would not tighten up all the way. Seeing this could be an issue I started to look how difficult it was to remove the carburetors. And here is where I found my issue.

when I was inspecting where each bolt was I noticed that everyone of my carburetor float chamber assemblies was warped. Two carburetors have about a 1/8” gap with the rest being about 1/16”-1/32”.

Obviously I’m pretty mad that two techs missed this after they said they had rebuilt all six of my carburetors. I am going to try and post the pics. I’m now waiting for the parts to come in. But I’m almost 100% sure this was my issue. To be honest I’m surprised my motor even ran after finding this.

i hope this might help someone else if they come across a similar issue.

soo you are aying that since you replaced the carb bowls , the motor runs great?????? or is it that you just THINK youve found the problem and WILL FIX that issue in the future when you get a chance........ when you drain the carb bowls and then reinstall the screw, and then go to PRIME...does gas come out of that opening you "found" where the bowl is warped????? the gaskets have some thickness and they can take up quite a bit of uneveness and still get a seal.....although....NEW carb bowls is a great idea for you anyway!

Don't overlook hull issues -- mainly water that has leaked down below the decking. Soaks the floatation foam adding weight, with the remainder sloshing around changing position (ballast) as the hull angle changes.
