1997 Evinrude 150 HP OceanRunner- Is it a FICHT?

Looking at a boat with this motor on it. Any opinions on this motor would be appreciated. I was told it was a FICHT (perhaps misspelled) and I should stay away . Should I heed the warning?

FICHT's made their appearance in 98'....post the model number and we'll know.

actually 1997 was the first year of the Ficht

Does the motor have carburetors? If so it is not fuel injected [FI].

Get the model number and check against the BRP parts manuals' list of models:
