when pull back to neutral starter engages, what to look for?

Bad ignition switch,
Shorted wire in control box,
Shorted wire in harness,
Maybe unhook small yellow wire from
starter solenoid and hook up a volt meter
or a test light to yellow wire
so the motor is not cranking
while you start your process of elimination.
