1997 150hp power pack installation help

i recieved my new power pack in the mail today. this appears to be a basic bolt on part.. am i right about this????are all these goofy tests really required that the instructions say to do???

you should do a thorough DVA test on your regulator and stator, to make sure they are ok. other than that I just bolt mine up.
