Hey guys

I am having a hard time tracking down the shifter cable for my 1996 Scarab Sprint. Here is the serial# 0F292814. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Throwing the shift lever in forward is no issue, but when i got to put it in reverse it doesnt want to lock in a engage. I have tried adjusting it but have gotten nowhere, everyone i talk to say one of the cables needs to be replaced.

Here is the number for the OEM kit. Get the OEM cable for sure. MUCH better than any aftermarket cable.

Thanks Don, Any idea how many labor hours it should take to replace this? I am not trying to get burned by the shop.

Typically, 2 to 4 hours depending on accessibility and corrosion. That's just a guess, because I can't see it.

Best thing is to have the shop look at it and get an estimate.

No problem there, I also know this boat has two cables. One that goes from the throttle lever to engine which i believe is the one above and one that goes from the engine to the drive. How can I test which one needs replacing or should I just replace both? I cant find that part either.
