could pump need replacing again ? want to replace pump myself. looked at some vidioes on youtube. looks like a somewhat simple job, is there a shift linkage that needs to be disconnected befor i can drop lower unit off to change water pump? or can i remove bolts and remove the unit ?

What is your engine s/n and I'll get you the manual which you can download. Should be no shift rod disconnect.
