Hi,

I have surging engine. I did not have this problem last year. Ignition is good, new plugs, good wires.

I rebuilt my fuel pump. While there are no leaks, I wonder if I put it back together incorrectly if this could cause the surging or would it just not pump. The engine idles at 1/3 throttle forward from neutral. There was no surging at idle.

Upon placing in gear and throttling forward or reverse the engine begins to surge, running up to the appropriate throttle rpm, then falling off, then surging back up to the previous rpm, then almost immediately back to lower rpm, not lower than idle.

This occurs almost back and forth in seconds and continues this way..

I also changed all my fuel and tank lines, not that I think this is an issue but it is the only other project I recently completed that is fuel related besides the fuel pump.

Thanks in Advance,

Pat
