Hey guys, new to the forum and would appreciate some advice. My 96 spl is having an intermittent problem. It seems to run fine for an hour or maybe a whole day and then out of nowhere, when I try to start and go to a new section of the river my engine bogs down when i put it in full. Works ok at idle and up to half throttle...wants to go at first then just dies back to idle type speed/rpm. Then, without explanation motor will begin to work normally again full out and otherwise. Need help...carb works great and is clean....sound like an electrical issue? thanks again

Sounds like it could be a couple things.

May be an ignition component heating up, and causing you to drop a cylinder. May have a fuel restriction such as an anti syphon valve sticking in a semi closed position, or a clogged fuel vent.

I would probably start with a spark and compression test. You may need a blow dryer to heat up certain ignition components to get them to act as they do when they fail, if that is in fact what is happening.

If the spark and compression seem ok, I would look to fuel delivery.
