Are the plugwires you made up marine grade-solid core stranded wires? Are they part of the problem? Possible the carb throats are not delivering fuel. I'd pull the bowl drains and remove the high speed jets-do a visual inspection. The idles are accessible, so do them too. See how they look. If any signs of restriction, pull the carbs down and flush all the carb internal passages and remove all the jets (idle, mids and high's) to do a visual on them.

I'm using 8mm msd helicore wires. They aren't marine so I suppose they could be part of the problem. They are leftover from my dads boat.
The lower left wouldn't spark my home made wood plank and nail tester. The other 3 did. Tried with one of the old oem plug wires and the new ones and it made no difference that I could tell.

Will a faulty coil kill the power pack?

Yes it can or the powerpack could just of given up or the timing base.
Check them all out using cdi troubleshooter

You need to get them all sparking and in correct timing then do the drop test to see if any left bank a getting fuel.

If you have swapped coils over and its still not sparking and you have done the cdi test on timer base then i would think its the powerpack.
On some models there is a powerpack for each bank so you just swap them over but i think you only have one on that motor

I already put a new powerpack on it. Replacing it caused the top left cylinder to start working.

I'm thinking if the bottom left coil went bad, and took the power pack along with it, it would explain that whole left side not working. I'll swap the coils around and if that seems like a likely culprit I'll go buy one on monday.
My carbs are probably a little gummed up from sitting over the winter anyways, it's probably contributing to the problem. I'll spend a bit of time and take them apart as suggested.

you may also want to look at the connector for the timer base to see if all the pins look ok . wires on port side 5 pins I believe.
