Thanks for all the advice, CRAIG- hit the nail on the head. I replaced the cam roller with one which has the clear nylon roller, and it now will turn 5600 with NO problems!!
Hello. I'having the same problem with my 1996 oceanrunner 150 on an 18' outrage. Motor works fine, starts everytime and runs smooth, but it will only do about 4000 rpms. Can anyone please help me to identify the "throttle cam roller", I looked in the web at a few parts diagrams and there are several rollers. I'm not a very mechanically oriented but I would like to know a little bit about what I am talking about when I talk to the mechanic (I'm a little weary of them). Any diagram, picture or suggestion is welcomed.
