1996 Johnson 130 E130TLEDM overheated

I recently was stuck in very shallow water and ran the motor too long trying to get out. It was stupid. I pulled the lower to change the water pump and found a bunch of sand and pebbles all in the housing, it ruined the impeller and o ring seals. So, cleaned it up with water and compressed air, installed the new pump kit and away we go. Ran like new no prob for one entire day, normal, thought it was fixed. Now at high rpm it goes in to SLOW mode with hot alarm sounding. Cools down quickly, then it will run all day at lower RPM.Question is: Is it possible something else clogged up when I stuck the boat? How can I back flush it, and my manual is a joke so how do I locate the t-stats? I searched the forums as hard as I could but I didnt see the answer for this particular model. My dog wants to go fishing but when it goes into SLOW mode he almost flies out of the boat, I'd like to keep that from happening again.

Are you sure its the overheat alarm?
Constant buzzer at wot is usually fuel restriction.

It has the warning lights below the tach and the HOT light lights up when the buzzer goes off.

There is no fuel obstruction warning (vacuum switch) on the V4 models, that was on the V6.

Make sure the screens on the water intake are in good condition.

Remove the thermostats and flush the system, then return them. You may want to test the thermostats to be sure that they are opening at 140 degrees.
